Epic bike ride raises thousands

Congratulations to Paul Duke and Peter Burrell, two intrepid Rudridge employees who've raised an amazing £3,335 in memory of our much-missed former colleague, Tony Marshall.

Paul and Peter, who both work in our Farnham branch, cycled from Paris to Geneva to raise the cash for the Stroke Association.

They set off from Paris on Monday 4th September and rode through Sens, Semur-en Auxois, Dijon and Lons-le-Saunier, before arriving in Geneva on Thursday 7th September. The route, which covered over 320 miles, involved hairpin bends and punishing climbs, including the notorious 1,323m Col de la Faucille ascent which has regularly featured in the Tour de France.

The pair took on the challenge in memory of Tony, who died suddenly after a short illness last year. Tony was a Senior Sales Executive and had been a popular member of the Rudridge family for 14 years.

Paul and Peter's strict training schedule paid off, and although it was a tough few days, they completed the ride without any mishaps - smashing their original fundraising target of £1,200 along the way.

The Stroke Association is the UK's leading stroke charity working to fund innovative treatments and change the lives of all those affected. Fundraising by people like Paul and Peter helps the charity continue its life-changing research and fight for better care. Thanks to its hard work with campaigns such as FAST there is a greater awareness of the symptoms, and the treatment of stroke patients has dramatically improved.

Donations can still be made by visiting Paul and Peter's Just Giving page - www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rudridgepeteandpaul.

Well done Paul and Peter for your inspiring effort!
